Jenny Day started DayDreams in 1987. Early on, she organised a successful luxury weekend to Istanbul for 100 guests As a professional PR consultant she continued to promote Turkey as a holiday destination and went on to lead many journalists to Turkey in the late 1980s on gulet holidays. Intent on sharing the experience with friends, she returned several times over the next couple of years, organising her own private charters on the first Cevri Hasan. They were so successful that friends told their friends and the word spread. Her dream of offering a style of holiday, once the preserve of the rich and famous, to a wider audience had become a reality and DayDreams had become a thriving business.
The Mediterranean and Aegean coastlines are ideal for gulet cruising and sailing. Still largely unspoilt providing many magical moments for that chance encounter with dolphins or a loggerhead turtle. DayDreams has worked with the owners of all the Cevri Hasans since 1987. Today there are two available for chartering, Cevri Hasan IV and Cevri Hasan V. Working with our Turkish handling agents, Flama Tours of Bodrum, we also offer an extensive selection of 35 plus gulets and schooners for exclusive private charters.
The idea of bringing together small groups of individuals and couples into gulet parties was an important feature of the business from the very start. Single travellers in particular are able to experience life on board a privately chartered gulet and this philosophy continues to be an important feature of the business. Individual cabins can be booked on a few gulet holidays during the summer months on board the Cevri Hasan V. Our in-depth knowledge of the coastline means we can find places off the beaten track to explore, from wild remote anchorages to interesting small villages including archaeological sites. Foodies will also enjoy Turkish cuisine. Standards have risen and menus and recipes vastly improved since chefs and cooks watching Masterchef compete with each other !
