Jenny Day has been organising small group holidays to Turkey, particularly schooner parties, along the Turkish coastline for over 24 years. The emphasis has always been on achieving a 'house party' style atmosphere for single travellers and couples to enjoy good company and good food while exploring the beautiful and fascinating terrain. Jenny escorts many of these parties personally, enabling those travelling with her to benefit from her knowledge of the numerous wild walks along deserted trails, remote villages and archaeological sites along the coast. A variety of itineraries are carefully planned, catering to the varying interests of DayDreams travellers. Over the last few years, Jenny has researched and led groups around the Greek Dodecanese islands and two itineraries are included in the 2012 Schooner Parties Programme.
Imagine waking in the morning with the sun streaming through the porthole, slipping over the side of the boat for a swim before breakfast. And what a breakfast; irresistible Turkish yoghurt and honey, eggs any way you want, fruit, cheeses, olives, luscious tomatoes and local breads. Anchor up, off you go to a beautiful bay for a swim, or potter about on a canoe. A delicious lunch follows, then more swimming and relaxing in the sun. Winds permitting, the sails might go up, as we move along the coast to another magical setting for dinner and an overnight stay. Dinners feature barbeques, local specialities, endless different mezze and a wonderful variety of Turkish home cooking; all eaten under the stars.
Land based holidays are featured for those people who prefer to keep their feet firmly on the ground. Istanbul is a constant favourite and a house party style weekend will start the programme in November. We also look to include some of the hidden, lesser known areas of this beautiful country in our land tours and a variety of itineraries and dates will be added over the coming weeks.
